As you all know,
various great resources are available on the .net. However, most
of them are very hard to find - especially, if they haven't been
placed on locations like 'music.com', 'games.com',
'programming.com', etc. In this section, I try to dig up, in my
opinion, some very great resources which everyone should take a
look at. I'm not
saying, all links apply to all people, but if you have an interest
in the specified area, you should not miss one of the sites I
review below. Most link-collections are just a bunch of URLs mixed
with a one lined comment about its contents. With my collection I
try to do the opposite. I have a limited amount of links, but all
featured are very usefull and with a long description
thus you don't have to visit a web site you don't think sounds
interesting.
Every link opens in its own window when you
click on the small house icon.

Great music from a Danish techno artist.
This man, Morten Selmer, is able to mix various types of
styles into his tracks in such a unique way. Every time you
pick up one of his tracks, you will get a new experience.
This official site features a complete list of released
tracks; you are even able to download sound clips of a vast
majority of them in the well-known MP3 format.
You are furthermore able to order all his
released CDs from this site. Browse around and pick up
titles for the ones you want, then send a simple mail
including these to Heliotrope and he'll send you all needed
information on where and how to pay for them. |

This site features a
lot of Delphi components and is often updated multiple times
a week. Everyone is able to publish their components on this
site and if you have made any components for Delphi, it
would be worth the trouble since this site has a lot of
regular visitors. Unfortunately, you are not able to search
for a specific component, but luckily all featured
components are divided into various categories to make it
easier to find a file with some given properties; e.g. if
you want to find a component able to show a Print Preview,
you might want to look in the 'Print VCL' category. Torry's
owner, M. Peresada, is sometimes evaluating the released
stuff. If he finds it valuable, a special hot icon
(looking like a bomb) will appear next to the component. If
you see this, make sure you don't miss it - even
though a component doesn't fit your current needs you should
download it. It might come in handy later on. |

Brad Stowers is surely one of the
greatest Delphi programmers around for the moment. His site features all kinds of very, very well-written components for
almost any version of Delphi and C++ Builder. His site has
been build on a couple of good philosophies, some of them
being ["The component must be distributed as freeware."]
and ["The component must include full source code
(rare exceptions may be made)."]. Brad
is updating his site regularly (although not for the last
couple of months) and maintains a large support
forum for all of his components and applications. If you
have a question regarding one of these, write a message to
the forum and you will usually have an answer within a
couple of hours. |
