If you want to avoid having any Mac application shown in your dock, it&#8217;s possible to patch its package by doing these simple steps<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nOpen Finder and browse to your application\n<\/li>\n<li>\nRight-click the file and select &#8220;Show Package Content&#8221;\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/img.skitch.com\/20110430-8jhat7usmqgbg2mdr3de9d3qut.png?w=660&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Browse to &#8220;Contents&#8221; and open &#8220;Info.plist&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/img.skitch.com\/20110430-n2eea2k7gres3cmiuit2s1xeqg.png?w=660&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Showing contents of a package\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you find an element called &#8220;Application is agent (UIElement)&#8221; you can mark its checkbox. If it does not exist you should add it by clicking &#8220;Add Item&#8221;, enter &#8220;LSUIElement&#8221; and mark the checkbox.<\/p>\n<p>Now save your Info.plist file and restart the application.<\/p>\n<p>Done. The dock icon is now hidden.<\/p>\n<p>Just a warning .. this might not work for all applications e.g. if the application contains a menu that will only show the application is focused.
